Do not ding on turn-in
Marks of Honor XP trap
The fastest way to accidentally leave the 10–19 bracket is not a dungeon boss—it is turning in Warsong Gulch Marks of Honor for experience while your bar is already full.
Rule of thumb
While you are locking 19, bank the marks. Do not turn them in for XP.
Why this exists
In Classic battlegrounds, wins/losses award Marks of Honor. Repeatable turn-ins at the battlemaster or related quest givers historically paid honor/reputation and experience in lower brackets. Community WSG guides for Classic cite XP on those turn-ins in the 10–19 band (often summarized around hundreds of XP per package) tooltip-only. Forever XP per turn-in is unverified — we still bank marks.
What is uncertain in Forever
- Exact XP per mark turn-in may be retuned—verify on Wowhead Forever after launch.
- Whether Forever adds a separate XP-off control does not remove this trap if mark quests still grant XP.
What to do instead
- Queue WSG for practice and gear awareness.
- Put marks in the bank (or a mule) until you intentionally leave 19.
- Keep reading the XP lock guide and quest XP tables for PvE turn-ins that also ding.
